Article Forums v4.x for vBulletin v4.x

Turn a forum into an article forum. Sub-forums are turned into categories.

• Posts/Articles show in searches & in new posts
• Create as many sub-forums/ categories as you need
• Follows forum permissions
• Can still rate thread, etc.
• Different postbits for article and replies (comments)
• Choose what to display in postbit for article and comments
• Choose what to display on articles in vBulletin Options

* Not compatible with 3.7.x forums *

Installation:

1. Upload articles.php
2. Import product file
3. Create a forum in admincp
4. Go to vBulletin Options->Article forum Options

Remember to click Mark as Installed to receive updates and support

Possible Future Additions:

• Make article collapsible
• Allow multiple article forums

Not sure if this has been covered...and I apologize if it has.

For the Article Postbit in the Admin CP of this mod...

If I set "Use article postbit instead of default?" to Yes then the article fails XHTML validation. If I set it to No, it passes. Now I know you may care less if the page fails W3C compliance, but there are those of us who feel this effects how search engines see your site...and it actually does.

Now...there are only 14 errors, but I'm not one to try and hunt down the errors. I mean...I do what I can, but I don't want to change anything that may cause issues to this mod and our forum.

Is there any way someone here can give me a little guidance as to where I can edit the article postbit for this mod? I appreciate any help...

bananalive... I know you will read this. There is clearly a bug in your mod here as noted by several users. You seem to be real johnny on the spot with your other mods, but are completely ignoring this one. If you ain't gonna fix it, at least be courteous enough to tell us so that we can hire someone to create the mod for us where it will function properly and vb.org can send this one to the trash bin.

I have posted a request in the paid services forum as follows:

We are in need of an Articles forum. There is a mod here for that purpose... you can see it here:

Article Forums Mod Version 1.9

However, if you scroll down that page to post #897 you will see that the modification has a pretty serious bug issue.

The mod in its current state will break your inline attachments and turn them into links.

Several of us using that mod have tried to contact the coder and get him to fix the bug and have also offered to pay him to fix it, but he is completely ignoring us and offering no support for the mod. I am surprised that vb.org allows coders to claim a mod is supported when it is in fact not supported, but that is their choice.

I would like to pay someone to fix the bug in this mod that is breaking inline attachments. I do not see how this could be too seriously complicated to fix, but I am also willing to pay someone to create a new mod like this and post it in the forum for all to use.
