vB Timeslip Database - for Automotive websites · **Released**: 03-17-2006

Yes, finally I can release it here the converted version off Timeslips database for vbulletin 3.5.x. I made it as a product, try to change the file edits into plugin as best as I could but you still need to edit 2 files (optional). I can't think of an easy way to remove that but if anyone can, please pop in.

I've made the timeslips.php page XHTML valid. Of course the look has not been changed. Also made it fully phrased.

Why do I still have to edit files ?
The reasons for those editions are because you don't want users to see the timeslips profile fields in the memberlist/member profile/edit profile

and just that. So that means if you exclude those the hack will still work whatever

Firstly please read the file Instructions.txt file on how to install this hack.

the steps are: Import the product-timeslips.xml file. Do file and template editions. Upload files to correct folder. Then enjoy it !

I have tried all that I can by installing this hack on a fresh board and solved *almost* all the problem. But if you find any errors, please post it here (just do not duplicate things :P ).

Upgrading

I haven't had a chance to do the upgrade because I convert this for a fresh vb3.5 board. I've set up things that I think it's ready for the upgrade. I'm willing to test the upgrade on your board if anyone can give.

03/19/2006: fix the problem showing your current timeslip image when editing your timeslip. To upgrade simply re-import product-timeslips.xml.

03/20/2006: Hack version change to 1.1.3: Changed the field of field 52,53,55 to decimal (6,3). Added one more file editions into the instructions file to fix showing proper image. So bad to add another file edit but this is becaus there is no hook in image.php. this is how to do it:

Again to upgrade you need to import the product file again to overwrite. then do the above edit.

03/23/2006: Update: fix a JS error when submitting the new timeslip. (Thanks Sidewindr). Also the new product will attempt to remove your old vb3.0 options then add the new ones, this is for upgrading from timeslips for vb3.0 to vb3.5 . I didn't test that tho.

12/05/2006: Version 1.2 for vb3.6 released.

seriously does anyone understand how many websites running 3.8 would like to have this software active and running? i dont want a garage and all the other BS, i just want this type of software but without the mess. and it is a HUGE mess. any coders willing to take this on and update it to work with 3.8 and release it to this entire forum(dont pm me saying ull make it work for $X.XX on my forum) would surely receive donations from all the automotive sites...

I had this working (very heavily modded and very specific to the types of vehicles on my site) on 3.8.4, but I'm lost how to get this working for VB4. Get the infamous Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class error on my dev site when accessing the timeslips page.

looking for uninstall info for this also. It has left many fields in the user profile that no longer match a field in my database. Anytime I try to update a user or add a new user, I receive an SQL error.

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'field50' in 'field list'
Error Number : 1054

How do I remove fields manually from the field list of the user profiles?

1 - AdminCP > Plugin & Products > Manage Products > Vbulletin Garage > Uninstall > Go

2 - Log into your domain account with your FTP client. Verify that all vB garage files/folders are no longer present. If so, delete.

3 - AdminCP > User Profile Fields > User Profile Field Manager > find Field 50 > Click Delete

4 - Log into your CPanel > phpMyAdmin > open up your forum database > look for the following tables (vbgarage_images, vbgarage_users, vbgarage_comments). If they are present, click on each table and hit the drop tab to drop the table.

5 - AdminCP > Maintenance > Update Counters > Rebuild your Forum Info, Thread Info, and Post Cache

I believe I have this removed fully, except in my AdminCP under "vBulletin Options" there is still a listing for "Timeslip Database" and when you click on it, it has no content... just the standard dark blue screen and it says:
Timeslip Database Settings - 'save' 'reset' and thats it. No actual settings offered.
Any idea how to remove this as well?
