Yes I agree with you alot I also check all things before I install but I dont post bad mouthing the coder I just report it so the staff can look and check
Pardon me, but 'bad mouthing' sounds different to what I wrote. I posted a clear statement concerning encrypted code. Not every user is confirm to what this means, so why not making a point?
Thanks for your detailed reply. I am glad that you have reflected what I have posted.
But why is the unbranded version also encrypted then?
I trust your code in the aspect of your intention, that is not the point to me. Mistakes at coding can allow exploits, though.
I want to have clear text php in order to customize it / to have it visible.
Unbranded version is encrypted for domain limitation reason (licence file system with ioncube)

Im out of this discussion.
Stop fighting guys
Everyone is allowed to have its own opinion and I respect others thoughts.
I dont thrust encrypted code, i want to have a look at it before Im going to welcome exploits to my forum
UNINSTALLED !!!
1. Have you looked that popularity of this?
2. Have you seen he's reputable and been here since 2000.....
You sound like someone that can't reboot their computer without phoning home.

You should contact a ton of other sites/suites/software running encryption. Along with Microsoft, Apple and all the others encrypting theirs. As long as the features are there, I see no issue.
For anyone who wonders why encryption is added to various paid addons: just google for vbulletin addons and see that ALL unencrypted paid addons are freely available. Its a huge problem to addon developers.
Consider that we can freely enjoy their work on vb.org while they get paid from the paid versions that they sell. Take that away and the developer has no food on the table and will not be able to release on vb.org
I find the move to encrypt very understandable, even though I hate ioncube and encrypted software.
I need to be able to modify the code. I have previously posted a version of the chatbox that fixed a security issue that I needed to have resolved pronto. There also was a addon conflict I had resolved. This cant be done with encrypted software.
One thing that I think people on vb.org forget now and then is that you are freely enjoying this software and should be grateful for this. I do not think anyone has a right to become angry at a coder who works so you can use the software for free.
it is this behavior that has caused more than a few coders to retract all their work from vb.org
