Shoutbox Hack 1.04b

11/09/04 - Version 1.04b. Just an installer upgrade, nothing more. Nothing to see here, move along.

10/22/04 - Version 1.04a released. This is not an upgrade from 1.04. If you already have 1.04 installed, don't worry about this. This release just updates the installer and fixes any errors in it. If you had problems installing it last time, this should work better. If you need support, posting it here may get it answered, though posting at the board at GeekyDesigns.com is prefered.

This is the same hack formerly released by Link14716.

08/29/04: Shoutbox 1.04 is released, featuring a new installer system (using the Hack Installer System) and redone templates, as well as a few bug fixes. Enjoy.

Install Instructions:

NEW INSTALL/UPGRADE FROM 1.03 to Current
 
 1. Upload the contents of the 'upload' folder to your forums directory.
 2. Run http://www.yoursite.com/forums/install/hack_install.php
 3. Select "Shoutbox Hack" and then follow the instructions to install.
 4. Follow the directions in the readme files when it gets to that step, then finalize the install (by clicking the last link in the install).
 5. Enjoy your shoutbox!

Matrixgl did a template modification to make the shoutbit more like its vB2 counterpart and released it (tested on 1.03) here.

What is the exact error you recieve?

What vB version are you running?

You seem to have a space in the directoryname 'his_files'

Just a question, I installed it on all pages through putting it below the navbar template (or navbar2 template in my case) but the problem is that it doesn't have the name above it, and the button where normally states Shout Now!, says nothing at all now....

There is no space in the file I check it again... that space may be an error when I posted. Below is the message again

You have renamed your admincp directory. To fix for the installation and all future installs of hacks that are distributed with the HIS installer do the following:

Go to your 'install/his_files' directory.
Rename 'hack_config_default.php' to 'hack_config.php'.
Open this file with an editor and change the value for $admincpdir to the location of your admincp directory.

so its installed, everything wend great, only...it doesnt show up on the index, the code is there in the template from what i can see. I notice there were quite a few users having this issue, but browsing through I did not see a reply with the solution...

Has anyone found the fix for Shoutbox refreshing, so the whole page does not refresh when you post a shout?
