Michael, you can stop searching on youtube for the PC/Mac ads... they are all in HD on Apple.com

and yes, i would sit 3 times more time on my chair if i own a PC -- always trying to figure out how to debug it...

Are you comparing laptops or desktops, or both? If laptops are included, can I ask where you're finding these prices? Just curious since I recently got a new Dell XSP laptop, and my girlfriend got a Macbook Pro. Similar specs, though mine has a LED display, HDMI port, fingerprint reader, and memory card reader. I think she has 1 more USB port than I do. Mine was roughly 60% the cost of hers.

for the gadgets, sure you pay less, but are they useful ?!... fingerprint reader ?!... NASA player ? just as comparaison, i just did the work, and you are right, the Mac is like 10% higher in price... here is my exercice:
compare Dell XPS M1330 with a MacBook:

13 inches
Official OS OS-X 10.5 vs Vista Ultimate -- we compare full OS here
RAM: 4Gb (Mac is 1066mhz DDR3, Dell is lower, at 667Mhz DDR2)
HD: 128Gb solid-state
Wireless: 802.11a/g both

Mac: 2250$
Dell: 2040$

... for the difference of price, i would consider the RAM de-valuation of DDR2 used by Dell to make a choice of performance.
though that did not contain the Windows Vista license i have to buy with my Mac if i want to use Vista on it -- 250$ more... way more costly than a XPS like you say...

Amen Sister.

I just really want to know which one breaks down less and preference, nothing in between.

actually, the one which breaks less do not depend on the OS you use but on the company you rely on... Dell, Hewlett Packard and some others have great support, so they can help you when your computer break... if you buy your PC at Walmart, good luck... if you buy your Mac at Walmart, even gooder luck... lol

if you have an unballanced power source, even for a PC or a Mac, you will have problems with your powersupply in your computer and that may lead to power surges, destruction of your circuits, motherboard etc, overheating, blah blah... there is no difference between a PC and a Mac on that part... if the environment of your computer is a risk, the life of the machine is in danger.

Apple had for a long time a monopole that was absurd... no reseller, you had to buy your computer in one of the 500 Apple Store on the globe... now they resell, like at FutureShop and BestBuy, so you can check there.. .but there is no change in prices... a PC can be sold in a wide variety of prices and models... a Mac have one model of each, same price around the globe -- like a BigMac.

Guarantees and support are comparable between big companies... but do not buy your computer in a small unrelated shop or you may loose these guarantees... a custom PC?!... anytime at big companies like Dell etc... for a Mac, forget it... but you can do it on your own.

You can build much better for less if you check their deals page and go from there. They also offer 20% coupons on the XPS quite frequently, so it would be closer to $1,600 for the Dell.

sure, deals... everybody get deals... btw, these deals do not represent a single thing regarding which is better fit for you... once you have the computer paid and on your desk, do you prefer the design of the Mac OS, or the Vista one ?!

i like the new Vista... but the more you add to the desktop, like transparent navs and animated backgrounds, the slower is your computer even when these details are not displayed.

oh, and if i remember right, there was never a horror film with a Mac involved... a lot of Maniac Computers were run the nix way, or like Collossus, driven by DOS... killed millions. lol the only Mac based adventure i know about is an old version of Flubber...
Come to my school and try to use the school computers to get anything done... You will feel my pain.

I can stand windows most of the time when it's NOT a school computer. I am just not a complete fan -- I have grown against it from school. I actually help people fix their Windows machines....
