From the makers of the colour green and purple comes the most exciting and fun way to moderate your forum: GRAMPS

In a nutshell, gramps simply allows you to keep 'inline' notes on a post by post basis viewable for admins, mods and/or whatever groups you define.

Its pretty self explanitory by the attachment pic and the acronymn GRAMPS (er - ok... the name sucks but who really cares? I always wanted to do a hack whose name sounded overly complicated, yet the acronymn was pants. Now I have done it!)

Please read the readme (there are vital install instructions buried in there!) and click the frickin install button. Ive wasted much of a sunny sunday doing this because I needed it for my forum.

Whew! I thought I'd completely gone off my rocker. I simply went into phpMyAdmin and deleted all of the GRAMPS notes from the gramps table before users started asking questions!

Any plans on porting this to 3.5? I would love to to use this on my board! Great hack!

Updated to version 1.01

This fixes a rather lame and unsavoury bug whereby vb would sometimes cache the last gramps mod note as the post itself.
This can easily lead to the body of the post you are commenting on coming up with the last comment you made! Bah! Who needs it?

Well, this was a sneaky little bug but I finally fixed it.

To upgrade you need to:
Download latest package
Replace your existing includes/gramps_class_core.php with the one located in the new package.
You need to also edit your showthread.php file and replace:
PHP Code:
    if($show['gramps']){

$post['gramps_bits']=$gramps->construct_gramps_bit($post['postid']);
    }
with

PHP Code:
    if($show['gramps']){

$post['gramps_bits']=$gramps->construct_gramps_bit($post);
    }
NOTE: There are 2 instances of this!

Easy peasy. but VERY IMPORTANT!

Bwhahahaha! "minor bug"?! :knockedout:

Do you know what my admin and mods were going to do to me over this "minor bug"?! :hurt:

I should come over to Britain and find you!

Anyway, thanks for fixing it! :banana:

er... teehee?

BTW: Just to be really annoying... I just update the package again. This was just to include the stylevars so that the rendering of the mod notes looked nicer. All it requires is to replace your gramps_class_core.php file (as long as you updated to version 1.01 that is! If you are on version 1.0... follow the instructions a few posts back).

nJoy. Tell your mods I love them and am thinking of them

This is VERY weird...

... i came back to this window and the banana had stopped dancing!

wtf was with that?

I thought it was on an infinite loop! If not, it must be fixed!

The notes are still messed up :disappointed:

After doing the upgrade from the post above and replacing the class file twice it STILL replaces the first post with the note.

What should I do?

Should I run the install again or something?

check your gramps_class_core.php file for the following line:

$post['pagetext_html']="";

That resets whatever cache was in the post. its working on my site now
