WAP Plugin
BETA

What is the product for?
WAP is a highly demanded feature of the Chinese customers so I write the plugin.
The plugin is for any vB forums which would like their members browsing them with mobile device. It is able to detect mobile device correctly and provide narrow page output for mobile.
Currently there's only a style for WAP 2.0 devices, that means the plugin doesn't support WAP 1.x/WML device now.

History
Nov 14, 2005
Beta -- Initial release

Installation
1. Unzip.
2. Upload and import the product "product-wap-en.xml".
3. Upload and import the style "vbulletin-style-wap.xml". Remember to select NO for "Allow User Selection".
4. Go to "vBulletin Settings" -> "WAP settings" and change "Default WAP 2.0 Style" to "WAP 2.0".
5. Browse your vB forum with your mobile.

TODO
Create a new style for WML 1.x device.

Please click Install if you have installed this mod.

Some instructions might be good for dumb people like me.

If you're clueless, you need to set the styles in vB Options before trying to use this.

Yeah, phone browsers have very limited memory. The plugin needs to limit how much data it shows on one page.

I use wiForums, which is a third party application that handled my wireless site. It connects to the vB database.

It looks like it works fine but the quick reply box is filled with text.

I can get the front page page of my forums, and it is great, but when I click on a particular forum I get a 413 cannot display error. Is it trying to revert to some other template maybe or something?

I get this error when trying to reply to a thread:

I am signed in and can browse just fine. One thing I did notice when browsing the forumhome page is that the forums are squished together.
