Summary:

This is a semi-direct port of the hack located at:

The author has given me permission to re-release this hack under his 3.1.1 codebase, and as such I have converted it Vbulletin 3.5 support which involved a good many changes.

Also I changed a couple templates, and some html fixes so it will look a little better than it used to, feel free to suggest any other bugs that need to be fixed.

One last thing, although I will "Try" to get around to fixing any bugs that come in, this is NOT my hack, and therefore I will not associate myself with supporting this hack; I merely have done a service for the people that requested the port.

Again: THIS IS NOT MY CODE. AND IT IS NOT SUPPORTED.


Information:

1. Make sure you have a writable tmp directory.
2. This script only supports jpg, png, gif files.
3. I dont plan on re-writing this entire script to make it bug free, so please dont ask me to do so.

Upgrade From Vbulletin 3.x.x :

1. There is no upgrader; you just need 2 do a couple things.
2. More than likely you can leave your old vbg tables (havnt tested).
3. You _Do_ need to delete any previous settings/phrases/templates though.
4. Use phpmyadmin or w/e you use, and search your database for vbg with a wildcard it should locate anything that has that name in it; and delete them. Then follow the INSTALL.txt

Installation:

1. Download Zip File
2. Read INSTALL.txt
3. Click install if you like


Changes:

1. Did some actiontemplate optimizations, so only the necessary templates are loaded on the pages needed.
2. Removed the text field limit for describing your ride.

To Upgrade:

Simply overwrite the vbgarage.php file.

Is there anyway to include phrases in your member profile?

IE something like <if condition="$show['postcount']">

I added this. How come I did get the options at the top of my Admin page to 'Add Setting' like in this screen shot you have:

Also, is there any way to limit this feature to a specific usergroup? Or limit a specific user group from using it??

no, the hack doesn't support this feature.
i went an other way -> I hid the link to create and edit a garage by usergroup-inquiry.
only users in a special usergroup can see the link.
ok, if someone knows the correct link -> he can create an own garage, but who of the users knows this

thats perfect.. i want all users to be able to view the garage, but only a certain 3 usergroups to be able to create a garage...

can you give me more details on how you did this??

Anyone know how to change script to save files in directory, not Mysql database in vbgarage?

Just a note:

If you UNINSTALL this product, it DROPS your vbgarage database tables.

That's not really cool, I would have appreciated a warning, and personally I don't think any product should EVER drop your database tables.

I have tried several times to get this mod to work on 3.6.8 with an upgrade from the previous version of vbgarage, with no luck.

The best I could get was the system worked, but no one could edit their garages. Upon removal (to try and re-install it) I was stunned to find it had dropped my database tables. As I have a rather large site, it's going to take my upwards for 2 hours to restore the tables...

Following the directions, which make no sense, I deleted (carefully) anything that said vbgarage from the settings/phrases in my database. Then I installed the product. Users have no links to edit their garages.

In addition, this upgrade drops the ability to restrict who can use it by usergroup, which I personally think is crucial.

Anyway, I've removed it and hope the author will take steps to upgrade it so that there are some clear installation directions, it does not destroy data, usergroups are intergrated, and the installation works properly.
