Shoutbox Hack 1.04b

11/09/04 - Version 1.04b. Just an installer upgrade, nothing more. Nothing to see here, move along.

10/22/04 - Version 1.04a released. This is not an upgrade from 1.04. If you already have 1.04 installed, don't worry about this. This release just updates the installer and fixes any errors in it. If you had problems installing it last time, this should work better. If you need support, posting it here may get it answered, though posting at the board at GeekyDesigns.com is prefered.

This is the same hack formerly released by Link14716.

08/29/04: Shoutbox 1.04 is released, featuring a new installer system (using the Hack Installer System) and redone templates, as well as a few bug fixes. Enjoy.

Install Instructions:

NEW INSTALL/UPGRADE FROM 1.03 to Current
 
 1. Upload the contents of the 'upload' folder to your forums directory.
 2. Run http://www.yoursite.com/forums/install/hack_install.php
 3. Select "Shoutbox Hack" and then follow the instructions to install.
 4. Follow the directions in the readme files when it gets to that step, then finalize the install (by clicking the last link in the install).
 5. Enjoy your shoutbox!

Matrixgl did a template modification to make the shoutbit more like its vB2 counterpart and released it (tested on 1.03) here.

What is the exact error you recieve?
Where does the supposed error happen?
What vB version are you running?

I just upgraded to vB3.0.5 successfully. This time when I ran the install_hack.php to reload the templates I was told that the hack was installed there was nothing to do. Clicking override on the main menu allowed the templates update.

The Shootbox works on 2 skins,but not de Xtreem skin.

same thing worked for me, doing the override. i just need to fix the shout icon. just noticed that on lovely micro++++ (at work currently) that it doesn't show up. but of course it works on Mac (at home), cause safari is much better than anything else, also need to fix the "last 20 shouts" link

Running 3.0.5 and I ran the hack into overdrive like you two and it works just fine

Hey Folks.
I've had a quick look round in this thread, but can't really find an answer to my problem.
I'm having trouble displaying my shoutbox on the forum index page.
I have copied the code exactly as it is in the installed and have tried reinstalling the shoutbox too.
It is set to enabled in the shoutbox settings, I have even tried reverting my forumhome template to the original, but still no luck.
Can anyone shed any light on the problem?

Ummm...I updated my vB to 3.0.5, and now I need to re-hack all the various php files neccessary to make it function properly.

Are the php changes specified anywhere?

i would like to deinstall the shoutbox hack after upgrading to vB 3.0.5
Also it seems like a safety hazard.

Templates etc. i can delete, as well as shoutbox.php, but in the databsae it is not so easy.
Any hints what i have to delete out of the mysql database?
shoutboxposts is clear...but the rest?

Did the install via NON HTL Install.
