hehe. Its back (and improved).
Find yourself hanging around vb.org all day in the release sections simply because you find them so sexy? Wish you could apply that same look with those same tick boxes to your forums? Hold on to your hats because now you can.
With this add on for GARS PRO and GARS LITE, you can create a new type to apply to your forums: the Installs/Release type. With this new fangled functionality you get:
Those neat tick boxes
Last update, release date, vb version, mod version, etc...
Install counter
Install/uninstall buttons (that work!)
Install counts on forumdisplay (heck, it even lets you know if you have installed it!)
The ability for the author to see if someone replying to the thread has installed.
Release manager that lets you view all users that have installed your release
What you don't get:
A send update function. If there is a screaming need, ill do it when I get time.
A list of all your installed stuff on your profile. I may do that if there is a screaming need to.
The annoying thing at .org where you have to re-edit your post to put in the version number and such
But wait, theres more! Since this is a GARS module set, you get much much more:
This package is a bit more than just 1 file. It includes a new table, 3 new files and some additional templates. It also includes a product installer that will install these items as well as create a new term set, new type, new template set, register the modules and basically clean your curtains.

For some reason the text didn't show for me either, I went to the admin cp and started clicking save or ok on everything related to see if that would help. Stuff showed up after that.
Could something like this be used like for an event Forum? What I want to do is post an event forum where ppl can click a button for their named to be added to the list and possibly their signature sence their signatures contain their characters name and class etc..
Its a guild forum, and this type of post would be awesome for raid management.
This couldnt as it is an addon, however something along these lines could be done quite easily. Post exact details of what you would require over in the GARS thread or PM me and Ill take a look at it when I get some time.

Actually, now that I think about it... this would be damn near close as you could get to what you want with little effort!
Anyhoo, post me details of what would be different and ill take a look
Do you have GARS PRO or GARS LITE installed? One of those guys need to be installed BEFORE you install this.
HTHs
i installed LITE first then the gars install hack. im sure this was the right step . it works fine now but the only thing that doesnt show up is when i click othe amount of installs that people have it doesnt show. how can i fix this issue?

Ya, looks like you did it right.
Are you only getting a white page? This would imply a template error (i.e. youre missing GARS_install_main). If so, check its there and enable template names in comments via vboptions. Then look at the source and see if somethings up.
i don't have problem with editing and creating thread after ?
Thats right...I deleted several and it works just fine. However, i think if you want to modify one of those codes, you would do it via phrases...Not sure, but if im not mistaken thats how they are changed.
Deleting to rid some of those checkbox options is safe though -
