Video Club (YouTUBE, Vimeo, DailyMotion etc)
Developer Last Online: Aug 2021
Since 2006 I was serving community members with my Free Mods But as this site will starts operating by the company, I'm no willing to support them ** File Removed ** Video Club Fetch Videos from many Providers with URL since ver. 1.2.0 you can also embed any valid video code Things to know !!!
Demo Installation demouser1 / demopass1 demouser2 / demopass2 demouser3 / demopass3 PS: In my demo I've setup Disqus as commenting system. But it's up to you to setup Threads instead. 1.- What's this? Video Club is a Video Gallery mod for your community. It's easy to use and has a nice interface. User just needs to enter a link to the video and set a category. All others done automatically. For comments supports Thread per video but also the well known Disqus external commenting system. I strongly recommend you to use Disqus as it's very social and soon you'll see an increment amount of pageviews. 2.- Video Providers (Websites)
Not only one but 3 types for comments (plus an option to not use comments)
After many years I decided to use PRO version not as a way not to earn money (I don't expect to have more than 10 sales), but rather to find a way to pay for some commercial scripts that I want to use in the PRO version (Distribution License). The follow features will be in the PRO version:

Chris....
Sent you an additional PayPal for the extra work you performed on our site, assisting with the text coloring etc.... much appreciated.... We're going to start planning for going live for our membership sometime this weekend, but we wanted to do further testing with the PM functions of "approving, rejecting etc.." first, to make sure there's no issues with that function. I mentioned it earlier, but some thoughts for future design features we'd like to see, which some other mods similar to yours currently offer. It would be great if Video Club was capable of... 1. Allowing a user (or Admins) to EDIT existing video article information and perhaps also edit and change the existing thumbnail pic, like they can when first adding the video to the club, that would be an excellent function .. 2. An option (perhaps in AdminCP settings?) to have TAGS shown or not shown in the mod's video display screen. In my opinion, they clutter the display and my experience has been a lot of our members would never use them, as they don't even use the ones in vBulletin, so it would be great if we could turn them off being displayed at all. Thanks again for all your work... Regards, Doug |

We do not want members uploading a bunch of crap, so we do want to control and moderate which groups can upload and which can't. Ok, I just started testing the PM function and it doesn't seem to work as designed... I had a user called "tester" who uploaded a YouTube video just fine. It told him (message quickly flashed by) it was being submitted for approval before posting and returned to the main screen. Just an idea.. the message that it's being submitted for approval comes and goes so fast, I think there's going to be a lot of problems with people who can't read it quick enough and as a result, when they don't see there video on the main screen, they'll keep uploading it over and over again, thinking the previous upload didn't work. How about a HUGE message (admin phase configurable?) where it STOPS, they read it and then have to hit enter to go on... or, something like that? Now to the main problem.... The designated user ID (default was userid 1 but we changed it to 31098), who is supposed to receive notices and moderate, never sees anything indicating there's a video to approve? I even checked user ID 1 (Admin) to see if it went there and no, it didn't? The original uploader called "tester" sees his video in his "My Videos" area, but not on the main screen, so I know the uploaded video is there someplace. By the way, you should mark videos in the "My Videos" area as "Waiting for Approval to Post", or something like that, so the original uploader knows it's status and it's still waiting for approval. I've attached the Usergroup settings for the uploader, who can do everything shown, except moderate and they must have videos approved. By the way, as an aside... the Admin Usergroup has ALL boxes checked, yet they can freely upload without having to ge approval from anyone, so I don't think that setting, by accident or design, is work the way you want? Hope this helps figure out where the issue is.. Regards, Doug |

What I can do is to add one more setting and admin selects if he wants redirection or halt pages. Halt page means a static page where the user must clicks a link to continue. Maybe it's sound better but believe me is frustated for most users especially if they want to add many videos. Quote:

Users who have permission to Moderate don't need approval even if the setting "Needs Approval" is on. And this is logic. Why I (as Moderator) need to approve my own videos? Is it possible to reject it? |

I thought that the designated video moderator received a PM that there was a video waiting for approval? If that's not the case and it's supposed to appear under Moderation (like posts and threads), well, I can't see it under the designated moderator's area anywhere, but I'll go back and look. Quote:

ok ..
Here's the "My Videos" screen of the user "tester" who uploaded a video that's waiting for approval, but has yet to be approved by anyone... I don't see anywhere it shows that it's waiting for approval and won't appear until it gets approved? Am I missing something? Regards, Doug ps: By the way, what does "hide" mean and what's its purpose? |

Code:
$items = $vbulletin->db->query_read(" SELECT * FROM `" . TABLE_PREFIX . "videoclub_items` WHERE userid=$userid ORDER BY postdate DESC LIMIT " . ($limitlower-1) . ", $perpage"); Sometimes users may want to hide the video for their own reasons. Instead to delete and republish it (which means loosing all view, votes, comments), he can hide it from public view (owner and moderators can still see it with direct link), and then they can activate it again. |

Seems that there is something missing from the template, and not from the code. Below the icons must be a line with the status: Active, Hidden, Awaiting Approval. So it's an easy fix.

Now, I'm still looking for where the designated moderator "approves" the uploaded video.. I've checked all moderated areas, inboxes and the main Video Club page, but I see nowhere does that moderator get a message to review and click on something to approve a video. Thanks again.. Regards, Doug |
