Ok, so if my calculations are correct, if everyone there would have gotten a valid vB license, but decided not to when they found TOGRC, then vBulletin lost a minimum of $24,905 (leased licenses) and a maximum of $46,880 (owned license). How exactly is the giving away of free vB's legal? Each set of the tables count (in my mind at least) as a seperate instance of the software. I really don't see how just becuase they all use the same files it makes it any different from them having 293 different sets of files. The only difference is that they can add hacks more easily to it and the files don't take up as much space. Also, they are giving away free UBB.threads, and I don't think that that will set well with Infopop either...
Take this example. What if you modified a program, hey, let's say CuteFTP Pro, and made it where you can have it make seperate config file/registry keys. You give everyone in your neighborhood network access to your computer, and they run CuteFTP Pro and have it make a seperate settings set for them. So now you have everyone running CuteFTP Pro for their own purposes. Would this be legal? |

Ok it's enough now.
It's irrelevant wether the board is legal or not. Users just get support here when they show up as a licenced Admin of their own board. Hosting companies normaly won't give you acces to the vb-file, becaue there is just one file set on theri server, also just one db-table set. When you need support, you have to ask your hostingcompany, here's the wrong place, especially when you call others as idiots eot |
