Hmm well i need a type of home page, that reminds people stuff. And also to show them what to read/look for in the forums.

For what's it's worth, I bypass any website with a splash page, just don't have the patience for it.

Flash is a no-no too.

Very weird - loads just fine on my end and it was only a quick example since the OP is insistent on a splash page which you will see in my posts - I advise against. Anyway - flash is generally the more popular way to go by way of splash page anyway - I would think... Especially if the design is done right.
