About this hack:
This hack allows you to set a thread as 'must read' by your members. Right now, if you make a post and want all your members to read it, you have no way of enforcing it. This hack will give an error message similar to the one you get when you need to change you password, saying that the admins want you to read a certain thread before they continue using the forum.
Once a user reads a thread, they wont be bugged to read it again.
You can set all usergroups or just certain onces that must read a thread.
You can set to site wide or just some forums.
Option to Force Guests
This hack added one query to every page on your forum a member goes to.

Using Inferno Shoutbox Pro - would load the entire page in the shoutbox :? --- then using vBAdvanced --- Couldn't even load the main frontpage http://jpicforum.info --- Forum is in the root directory...
Aw I was hoping the next version would include a fix for the issue I posted; vBAdvanced and the Inferno Shoutbox Pro...
Anyway - Thanx for the upgrade - but is there a work-around so that the modification works with vBA installed?
Looks like the instructions may need a look at when it comes to upgrading. I followed them to a T and it jacked up the menu to select "Manage Force Users to Read this Thread." If I skipped the template edit, all worked fine with the update. I don't think upgrading users need to worry about the template edits.
Thanks for the mod. I have two questions (one of which I'm not sure it is fixed in 1.2, but I think not):
1. when more than one thread is forced, people need to click the forced link untill the last forced message pops up. This means they won't be able to read the 'older' forced topics.
2. when people need to activate their emailaddress, the activation link won't work, cause the forced thread plugin will disable the activation (and showing the 'you need to read topic' message). It would be handy to make the plugin check if people are activated or not.
Of course a solution to number 2 would be to not include the unregistered and unactivated membergroups. But my experience now learns me that my admins and moderators forget about that and easily check 'all groups'.
