Finally, my bittorrent tracker for vBulletin has reached a somewhat betaish level. Meaning, it functions but some things are still missing like AdminCP Category Editing and so on. But only a few. All needed things are there and it works well as I've been running it on my board for a month now.
I decided to write this thing after firsthand witnessing the problems with VBTT and what was first meant to be quite simple turned out into a full fledged tracker with features like commenting, rating, etc.
Note that this is a beta which means it has only been tested on one system AND I won't be responsible if you go blind from the messy code. But hey, it works! :nervous:
I don't have any screenshots but you are welcome to come and check out the live demo at: http://www.tokyo-nights.com/nutt
Heck, I'll even throw in a test user for ya:
Code:
user: kjustice
pass: useme
I'll prolly be updating the distro as I find and fix bugs. When the instructions say so or if you wish to, you can uninstall it by going to /forum/admincp/nutt_install.php?step=uninstall

If any of you know how to code, we may add a coder or two to help create a much better version of the tracker. Currently, the tracker on my site is only a slightly modified vB3.5 version of the one found here, so if someone can devote their time and has some experience with php/mysql (preferably someone who's released some hacks as "proof" of their skill), feel free to post here or contact me

Ive asked and he said after January. All other writers for similar scripts say 3 weeks then after that they say 3 weeks. I dont think anyone cares anymore. Meanwhile the only site I know of that has a torrent tracker for vbulletin 3.5 is Tokyo Nights. Made by this author and he doesnt feel its ready although its being used. Looks to be working quite well to me.
That's a fairly broad assuption. I can say this much: the current setup at Tokyo-Nights isn't nearly as good as it once was with the 3.0.x version we once had (since at the moment, we're just using slightly modified 3.0.x NuTT code). Because of this, afusion has had to work from the ground up to create a new and much better version of the tracker. The thing is that since he's the only one coding this, along with such things as school and life affecting how much time he has, it's not like he's coding this 24/7. I mentioned exactly a month ago in this thread that if someone can code and help with this, it would make this progress faster. Unfortunately, not one person contacted me in regards to this, so it'll be released when it's released.

I understand that. I just meant that al the other coders for similar hacks have been dodgey about it. However Noin (afusion) has been the only one to give a difinitive after January answer. Also he is the only one that shows some progress. I used to be fairly good with these things. However 3.5 has me confussed as anyone else. I just dont understand the hooks system. Id be happy to work on it myself. But it would be helpful to have something to work with. Why would I want to start from this code if hes already gotten it to run on 3.5? I'd rather work on a halfway working version than a totally non working version. Last I checked this was a beta release still.
