DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.



Instructions & Support

Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.

Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!

You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).

Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.

Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).

Nice mod, thanks for the time and effort you have put into it.

I have a couple of questions/requests though.

Firstly is it possible to disable uploading of files in a category (For example if I have a category called PC with sub categories called apps and games I would want to stop people just uploading files into the main PC category)

Secondly, would it be possible to add a feature that would automatically delete files from the downloads page and also from the server after x amount of days. I have a site where request can be made for files so if the script could delete those files it would make things much easier for me (maybe others too)

I would plan on adding a category called request or something like that so maybe a category option could be "delete files after x days" or similar.

When the extension usage is set to Image, you can only add it with the "Add image" feature (after you added the file). You need to set it to Both (or File only) to be able to upload it at the "Add File" page.

That's the purpose of the extension usage setting

oh i thought adding same type for image and file would apply only when you upload the file itself so i thought the exstension would be featuring that

but yeah i do hope you can add optional url for, i preferredd if they used imageshkacu instead of uploading it to the server. =)
like adding files with options link or upload from computer to server

This is a great mod and would love to use it but i would need one thing added.
If there is any chance you could add permissions for each category that would be great.

Say you have a category called templates but you only want the usergroup called templates and template mods to access this category to have that option to add this for each category would make this alot better for site owners to sell access to each category.
