About this hack:
This hack allows you to set a thread as 'must read' by your members. Right now, if you make a post and want all your members to read it, you have no way of enforcing it. This hack will give an error message similar to the one you get when you need to change you password, saying that the admins want you to read a certain thread before they continue using the forum.
Once a user reads a thread, they wont be bugged to read it again.
You can set all usergroups or just certain onces that must read a thread.
You can set to site wide or just some forums.
Option to Force Guests
This hack added one query to every page on your forum a member goes to.

Thanks for this hack! It was exactly what I was looking for. Now, I have a question. Can this be made so that it will also FORCE a user to REPLY to the thread? In other words, if they don't reply, then it will keep forcing them back to the thread until they reply.
If you can get it to do this, then it will be perfect!

These are what I was looking for and why i came to this thread. It should be a simple sql query to find if a user has replied to thread/poll right?
Strange you say this m8, as FF is what I recommend all my members to use while viewing my board and I have NP's with this hack regardless if they are using IE or FF.
That's odd. I tested this on two of my computers and also had someone on the other side of the globe run the same tests. We both received identical results. If we used FF we did not get any notification, but when we used IE we both saw the notification. What are the odds that two people on two networks on two different sides of the planet have identical results to a test and the results are just flukes?
This modification only works with users using Internet Explorer. Any member using Firefox will never experience the modification. I'm not sure what part of the code separates the two, but through extensive testing over multiple machines and networks, I've seen that Firefox doesn't support the mod.
Update?
I used FF to develop this hack. No problems.
