If ".org" all ready had a system in place like I describe in my last post, then you would have had some feedback to view before hiring him. It seems you and others have been burnt by the same member and if that is the case; then there would have been some past records to view. Unforchenetly there may never be such a system, so they should just delete the "Service Request Forum".

I don't see a point in having such a forum (The Service Request Forum) if your not at least going to attempt to protect Jelsoft's customers. This is an Official vBulletin site. I would start acting like one.

Let me first off say this. If you have a feedback system in place most everyone is quicker to write a bad review rather than a good one. You always hear all the bad crap people do and not the good. Anyone could click anyone and give them a bad reputation or review. People would abuse the system all the time.

Whenever I hire someone on this forum I always look at their background and get references from them. All you have to do is be cautios about whom you are hiring to do your job. Hell, I would think if you are going to pay someone good money for a job why not spend 5 - 15 minutes doing a little research on them?

Bottom line, don't be lazy and do some background checks on them, also, a no go on the review system. Bad decision.

My two cents

Not everyone could write a review about anyone they want. Read my post.

Client makes a thread about some service he/she needs done. CoderA, CoderB and CoderC all send there quotes via PM to Client. Client picks CoderB for the job. At this point the Client will send a service request to CoderB with the agreed price and any notes there may be. CoderB has to accept this request. Once CoderB Accepts the service request, then the Client will have access to leave a feedback note on the coders profile with a rating. The coder could reply in his own defense if there was a negative feedback left, or vis-versa

A system like this would be ideal in my mind and could be improved, but at least it would be a start. Then Clients can check out the coders feedback on past transactions. vB.org still won't be responsible for members who get ripped off, but at least there will be some sort of organized notes left for coders.

Or vB.org can continue to make stupid excuses and continue to just turn there heads as if nothing happens. Like it or not, but vb.org will just continue to grow and grow and this will just continue to happen if nothing is done.

His excuses seem like a total load of crap.

I had a guy living here in my home, that robbed me and my 2 room mates blind for a few weeks before we all cuaght on, and called the police. This guy had excuse after excuse with all kinds of reasons for everything, from I was in a horrible car accident, to my mom died and my house burned down, blah blah

TRASH IS TRASH
and they will do whatever it takes to get what they want.

FLUSH.

If people would do that, researching someone would be a lot easier.
i wonder if the same theory would work on ebay - take away customers feedback and what u left with ???
