Global Announcements

Hey all,

What is Global Announcements?
This is a modification that adds an announcement to every vB page. It's simple to use and install.

What can I do using Global Announcements?
The features of Global Announcements include:

• Online / Offline - The ability to turn your announcement Online or Offline.
• Set Announcement Title - The ability to change the title of your announcement.
• Set Announcement Text - The ability to change the text of which your announcement contains.
• HTML Ready - Has the ability to use HTML in both Title and text!

How long will it take me to install Global Announcements?
Global Announcements is a very easy modification to install. It should take no more than 1 minute to install! It comes with a product file, so all you have to do is import the included product file, edit one template and the modification is installed!

Version 1.1 Features
** Border Thickness - The ability to change the thickness of your Global Announcement table.
** Title Colour - The ability to change the colour of the title of your Global Announcement.
** Text Colour - The ability to change the colour of the text of your Global Announcement.
** Title Alignment - The ability to change the alignment of the title of your Global Announcement.
** Text Alignment - The ability to change the alignment of the text in your Global Announcement.

Version 1.2 Features
*** Announcement Title Link - The ability to create a link from the title of your announcement to an external link.
*** 'More' Option - The ability to add an 'More...' to your announcement. This links to the same link as the title.

Upgrade Instructions included in attachment. Just download the zip file and upgrade

Marky.. this is 1 of the most handy plugin i have used so far!
But i have a suggestion.. why not add the "hide" feature to it.. like vB has for its forums and stats .. (+) sign that opens or closes GA

3. That's because your running the 3.5 version on 3.6. A 3.6 update will arrive shortly (Hopefully today!)

Collapsability? It's been noted, and is in the "pipeline"

Im working on version 1.3 as we speak, a version 1.2 beta for vB 3.6 will hopefully be released today!

Version 1.3 will follow soon enough for both vB 3.6 and 3.5.

Current Suggestions

• Font Size Editable
• Collapsability
• Usergroup Editable
• BBCode and smilies

Im not promising that they will all be included, if they aren't included in the next version, they will be in the version after

My personal addition: if you want to restrict announcements only to registered users, place $globalannounce on "Navbar" template inside a <IF> block, like this:

I dont think it's that simple, I think it wouldn't work with custom groups but Im looking into it now and hopefully it'll appear next version.
