It's usually discussed but nothing ever comes of it because a lot of people feel it would be ripping off those who developed the 2.x and 3.0.x hacks.

What? Why? Because of a little number? I don't see why that number even matters... isn't this supposed to convenience the hack users? I mean, I'm not saying forget the authors but how does a number affect a hack at all?
If it means that much, why not do what Jenta suggested and have two installs, one for total (anyone who has ever clicked install) and one for those who currently have it installed (which, when uninstalled, will disable recieving of email updates)? MGM out |

all you need is a list of all hacks with an inline check mark to uninstall.
As for "total installs " and who has installed it. Use total file downloads (next to the attachment in the hack) and leave the "current installs as is. |

I presume you have a field in the thread table with userids of installs. You do a count on this to return the install count.
You simply add another field called activeintalls. You dump userids into both fields but only delete from the activeintalls field. Problem solved. |

Why not just an option to remove the link from the list like "unsupscripe from updates" etc. and leave them installed or something ?
I use that list for example to find all my hacks when I want to install a testforum etc. and to find all version releated once is really quite overwhelming .. |
