Anyway, I don't understand what's so great about hip hop. Again for whatever reason most hip hop "songs" I've heard are obscene or violent--and a lot of them are just plain stupid (i.e. one-syllable rhymes that don't make any sense)--and besides that, the emergence of hip hop has turned MTV and much of the media in general racist. Nick, ofcourse everyone has their own tastes but it's pretty simplistic to call a music genre 'stupid' if you don't know much about it, i don't love rock but i am not call it stupid because it will definately has it's positive things. But rap is not stupid, the rhymes are definately not stupid, i can talk hours about this but let me show you an example: Tupac Shakur <- that one guy influenced more people then every rock artist/group will ever do. Just don't try to be so shortsighted.

And yes, i have also a rap/hiphop/general forum... an unique design with unique addons and much more.

Some hip hop/rap music does pretty much suck, depending on who you listen too. You can listen to some 2pac/eminem/Dre/Eve/50/DMX/P.Diddy etc etc and they can have an effect on you, JUST because of the lyrics. What makes a great song is great lyrics and if you feel what they are saying then you will appreciate the song more. Most hip-hop songs tend to be aimed at lifes struggles and things like that and alot of people can relate to it. But people have different tastes. Beeing an emcee myself i love rap music but i also enjoy rock music such as linkin park because they impliment rap into their music and it comes out nicely, unlike limp bizkit

Reading this thread was entertaining. Rap != HipHop. End of story. For example, Ja Rule may claim he's a rapper, but he does more hiphop, 2pac on the other hand did rap. Other people like Brotha Lynch Hung, Mr Doctor, etc. they did proper rap.

Some rap is awful. Some Hiphop is awful. The rest, is all good .

i love hip-hop/rap but don't try and differentiate between the two as theirs all to much, i mean officially hip-hop is the culture and rap is the music. but all in all you'll have artists of all genres that just straight up suck :nod:

as for Linkin Park, i love their music, but they'll never be rappers to me, rock tends to immitate hip-hop more and more, with the whole rise of the rappy-screamy thingy check out artists like F4AF for example, which i personally think suck, but meh.

Hip-Hop is a great genre.
