ok so I literally have to upload the whole folder like I was installing a new board, then run the upgrade files? But wont I loose everything like members and such or will the database still remember it?

You are only replacing files, not the database. The database is a separate entity.

The only thing that you should make sure you edit in the new files is the config.php file, if you delete the original...

Without it, you won't be able to connect to the database

In an unhacked installation ZIP file, there is no config.php, only config.php.new which will not replace your config.php.
