Thanks for all of your reply's. Here's my other thing that I didn't mention. I will not be using VBulletin for this new site. The new site isn't for me, it's for a friend who wants something that looks good but is cheap.

With that said, he also likes to have the modules such as classifieds and that sort of stuff.

PHP Portals is out of the question then. That out of the major players leaves only PostNuke and PHP Nuke that I know of that are free.

If you are looking for comercial software you may want to look at Virtua News.

I like PHP-Nuke....the last couple of releases has been excellent and there isn't much to complain about (considering I got this user hack to work)
