I recently did a survey on my forums asking which resolution people use as I was re-designing my main page.
5% 640x480 45% 800x600 35% 1024x768 10% 1280x1024 5% 1600x1200 this was very surprising to me as my forums are for online gamers. |

thats why id make the site work in anything 800x600 or higher. My site works at 800x600, and every resolution above that

yes well, MY percentage of 800x600 users is only 18%, everyone else uses higher. So really I would be doing a lot of extra work to cater to just a few users.

also, keep in mind 16% of your users is almost 1/5th of your member count who has to scroll....
