You could simply go into the Forum Home section of the Options and tell it not to show locks. Would take 5 seconds to change and you wouldn't need a new graphic.
Just thought I'd mention, I really, really like the way your postbit thing is set up! I'm not a huge fan of LOTR but I like this a lot better than the other, more popular LOTR site I've seen.

Michael, there are more popular Lord of the Rings communities?! *L* Not to be rude, but I haven't actually seen that many bigger LOTR communities around
I knew there were larger LOTR sites out there, but TOR isn't a larger forum system, it's probably one of the largest information sites out there though
