Major Additions - Currency Converter Module for CMPS

This is my first add on and I'm not a coder actually. Just get together a few pieces around and came up with this.

What does it do ? Adds a currency converter module to your vBAdvanced CMPS page and you can convert most world wide currencies each other.

NEW: Also, if you don't have vBAdvanced you can use the external page version

The script was supplied from www.gocurrency.com and they updated all rates every day, so you don't need to worry about global economy late up and downs.

Requirements: You must have CMPS installed - www.vbadvanced.com

Installation vBA: Just upload the attached: AdminCP < vBA CMPS < Download / Upload Module

Select the position on CMPS you want despite it'll look better in right or left position due the script.

That's it, enjoy !!!

This was tested on 3.8.0 and vBadvanced CMPS v3.1.0

Customization Tips:

Despite of the Currency Coverter itself is an external content (gocurrency.com), you don't have too much control over it but serching a little deep further inside their website, I found out you really can have a few options of customizations.

Check at: http://www.gocurrency.com/v2/convert...-converter.php

- You can change the language for Spanish, French, German and even Turkish.

- Select the text color.

- You also can chose what primary currecies will be always showed as base and target currencies, so if most of your users just want to convert Euros to Dollars (e.g.) you can select this as default for your module.

Go ahead and click "Built" and after that "Activate"

Copy the script given to you.

You will need to edit the template for this module.

Find on your template: adv_portal_currency

NEW !! - Installation External Page:

Download Currency_Center.zip file.
There to files in it.
Upload currency.php to your forums folder through FTP.
Upload product-currency.xml file using: AdminCP < Product Management < Upload Product

The external page will be http://www.yoursite.com/forums/currency.php

I had this idea inspired at Vaupell mod (Unitconversion 1) after one request from Pehchaan, so thanks to them.

Hi guys,

I've been checking about this all day and it seems the issue is not with the module it self but with the external content that comes from www.gocurrency.com that are under Error 500 (lack of memory or something with their server) and that's the reason why.

Unfortunatelly we have to wait for them to fix it. I already sent them an e-mail informing (pushing) them to fix this issue. If you wanna help send them e-mail as well.

Anyway, you don't need to do anything with your CMPS module, as soon gocurrency is back with their service, module will come back normally.

Any chance to create it with XE.com Exchange Tool, 'coz it more completed than gocurrency.

Mesohu, I already considered XE.com but their converter, ate least the free version only opens in a anoying popup window. I'm sure nobody likes those popups.
To remove the popup from XE you have to subscribe for a year fee of USD540.00.
So, Gocurrency is not the best we can get for sure, but still the best free one and get a customization options.

I always search through the web trying to find other good options but nothing better than this so far. If someone can give a clue about another one, free, no popups, I can do it for sure.

Mesohu, I really tried to send them an e-mail but as they sell it as a service and not cheap (U$540/year) they are really not interested.

Just added an option to use a external page for this using your forum desing.

Just follow instructions I've just added at first post. 1 minute and it's done. External page and no need for vBAdvanced.

Besides Currency Converter I've included a Currency Chart at the same page.
