I use the eyedropper tool in photoshop which gives off the same results as pixie. I once used pixie (pre-photoshop days) but I find the eyedropper tool suits my needs.

I've had it for years on my pc and you learn something new every day with it

http://www.getpaint.net/index.html

another one is Gimp, http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ thats a free Photoshop lookalike but unless you know photoshop you can quickly become lost in it

The Good thing i guess with photshop is that there are a lot of tutorials out there, its just a case of finding one that your happy with and use that.

Have a great weekend

I have to slightly disagree about tutorials not teaching anything. I taught myself PS using tutorials (mostly on good-tutorials.com) and it helped me immensely. The tutorial will show you "use this technique to get this effect" and from there, then you know how to create that effect and it translates to other works you are doing.

Tut's teach you techniques that are used or combined to create other works, they are great IMO.

Ok I tried paint.net and PS to give my logo a transparent backround but it never works- when I upload the "transparent" background logo it still has a white background. URRRRRRG. So frustrated. I guess I'll have to pay someone to do this simple thing.

Dammit that looks great. I'm jealous.

I need to be able to put my main company logo on any color background and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. The logo people said the sent me a transparent one but there is none in the file they sent and they have since gone out of business. I read every friggen tutorial online and it's not working for me.

Thank you so much

Gabby
