I've driven everything we own in the snow/ice aside from the street bikes...never had much of a problem in it.
![]() My first experience driving in the snow was in one of these. Positive traction is a life saver. >) Matter of fact I've always felt "safer" in a rear-wheel drive no matter what the conditions. I'd much rather deal with over steer any day of the week, but I have no problems with front-wheel drive...just hate having to adjust my driving style for it. >< |

I might have to get my tires studded, as they don't seem to work nearly how they should for winter tires!
Cars in the shop now getting a fixed right rear wheel bearing, will see how the little bmw holds up over the next few months! |

Studs are really only good for ice and I wouldn't recommend using them on a non 4wheel drive car. Your best option would be to get a good set of snow tires and ask to get them siped (or take your current tires in and get them siped) (Siping is when they cut slits into the tread and it spreads out to create more traction in the snow and rain....

Front wheel drive little Renault Clio, and it handles perfectly fine until you reach sludge at the same level as my car, then not so good
