The information is a broad abstraction as to when the coder was active (We are talking month here, not minute, day, week, but month)...hardly an invasion of privacy, but as Nexialys said, to provide users a general idea as to whether the coder is still around.

Why is it any of their business if the coder is around? Should a user want to drop support for their mod and disappear off the face of the earth (or at least make it seem that way), then why shouldn't they be able to?

The current display of the month a coder was last online in modifications was added after request, and discussion, by members.
(members = users and coders). I see no change in circumstances that would require us to reconsider this. |

Since when should other people dictate the ability for me to have some online browsing privacy? There really is no reason for the "Hide my status" option to be present if you have this breach of it's functionality.
And of course the "users" will want to see whether a developer is around or not. Unfortunately a lot of people here don't contribute to the community, they take and don't give back. These are the kind of people I don't want on my ass just because I have a bug in my modification or what not. |

Nobody can see if you are currently online or not when you set yourself to invisible (well except staff). All they can see is which month you where last online.
But maybe we should implement your suggestion and disallow members to set themself as invisible. There is really no reason to keep repeating the same, unless you come up with new good arguments why we should change the current setup. |

I don't think we need another set of arguments among members.
This subject has now been covered, and the answer is quite clear. Thread closed. |
