Most common setup for this kind of situations is to create 1 category in the top for the common forums, then use usergroup permissions to show only the school specific forums for the school the member belongs to.
If you use a link (forum set to forward to a link) then with standard vBulletin this is just treated as a link, nothing more. I don't know of any released modification that would allow for what you have in mind. |

Thanks for your help.
I thought about doing it with permissions on the forum home, but for a few reasons that won't be good enough. It's not a massive problem if stats aren't shown, and I'll take a look at it at some point. thx again. |
