Thread Prefixes
Version: 1.6.2 vBulletin Version: 3.6.10 Developer: Michael (Mystics) Koenig (www.vbulletin-germany.com) Modification-Language: English & German & French (thanks to ReadWrite - Note: Readme has not yet been translated to french.) Install-difficulty: Medium File-edits: 5 Template-edits: 10 Brief Description of the Modification This modification allows your users to choose a thread prefix for each thread. To do this you are able to select an appropriate prefix from a list beside the title while posting a new thread - for example 'Help', 'Problem', 'Search' etc. This prefix will be displayed in front of the thread title. The result will be for example: Problem - I can't find this setting Problem is the thread prefix, I can't find this setting is the title of the thread. The prefixes displayed in this list may be defined by a moderator for each of his moderated forums (Forum Tools -> Manage Thread Prefixes); of course an administrator and a super moderator is allowed to do this for every forum. Tested for version: 3.5.0 (and above). Note: If you have used the Thread Category / Prefix Hack in vBulletin 3.0.x, don't worry: all existing prefixes will be imported during the installation. You just have to re-do your thread prefix settings in your vBulletin Options. Update Product

I installed and used this on many v3.5 forums and it worked well. However this version seems quirky. I am embarrassed to say that whenever I install it the entire post interface controls are rendered useless. (text formating, smilies, quote, code etc. ... not clickable)
Anyone seen this problem before? *update, there was some confusion in the vbulletin_textedit.js file edits. I sorted it out - thx |

Everything seems to work as advertised(so far)
I was wondering... is it possible to preload a default prefix in the drop down selector upon thread creation? I set the default thread prefix but it did not include it as a default prefix. |

Hello! I am enjoying your mod very much. I have a question, though, that with my limited understanding of vBulletin is pretty hard for me to figure out on my own. I would like to STOP the prefix from getting added to the browser title bar (ie. the top of the browser window). Everywhere else is fine, but up there causes some problems with the way I am using the prefixes. What do I have to take out to prevent the prefix being added there?
Thanks very much. Great mod, very handy! Bit of a beast to install >.< but worth it. NOTE: an alternative solution that would be great would be to be able to specify images instead of text for the thread prefix. The reason I am having this problem is because my system to put images in the thread prefixes is rather complicated. |

Mystics, first of all, great job on making this hack and I'm loving it. Though I'm having a problem here. My templates such as search_newposts are kinda messed up and that's prolly because of having the thread starter as it's own column. Here's the hack that I've installed on vB.com (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=197265).
Could you help me out and fix this please? Would you like me to send you my templates or what? Many thanks! |
