Description:
SmnLikQuick v2.0 adds an advanced announcement block (Title and Content) to your vBulletin powered pages that is easily managed via AdminCP. This new version (based on the AJAX Tabs Content Script (v 2.0) written by Dynamic Drive), utilizes Ajax to display multiple announcements in one container when the title (tab) is clicked on. It also has the ability (and utilizes this ability upon install) to rotate between tabs (announcements) in a "slideshow" type manner until a user explicitly clicks on a tab (see screenshots provided).

See Post #02 for log.
See Post #98 for Upgrade Instructions.
See Post #99 for Multiple Styles Fix

DEMO: SmnLikDat.com Community

Co-Owner/Co-Authors:Please Note that there is a new setting that allows Admins to choose whether to parse BB Code or HTML (not both). It is reccomended that you parse BB for security reasons, however the choice is yours.

SmnLikQuick Addons:
  • SmnLikQuick CMPS Module - This turns your SmnLikQuick v2.0.x Announcements Block into a CMPS Module. You MUST have BOTH SmnLikQuick v2.0 AND vBAdvanced CMPS installed. Demo: SmnLikDat.com
Future Features:
  • Usergroup permissions per Announcement.
  • Slideshow timing controlled via AdminCP (Control Speed or Disable this feature)
  • Display certain Announcements to certain users via their UserCP
INSTALL:
  1. Upload the files within the UPLOAD folder (in this package) to the corrosponding forum directories on your server making sure to keep the filetree intact.
  2. Import Product: SmnLikQuick.xml via AdminCP>Plugins & Products>Manage Products>Add/Import Product
  3. Refresh AdminCP (ie: Ctrl-F5)
  4. Complete Template Edits (2 Edits) - Instructions provided in .zip file.
  5. (Optional) Edit includes/smnlikquick_css.css to match your style.
  6. Add Announcements & Enable the SmnLikQuick Mod via AdminCP>SmnLikQuick
Don't forget to mark as installed! Support will be given in this thread. Comments appreciated and feature requests welcomed! Thank you and Enjoy! -Bree

Yeah, once you get it initially installed, which I don't think should take very long anyways.. updating really is quick an easy... Hopefully I can keep it this way =0)

Hi myown, unfortunately with the way this mod works, it doesn't automatically match up. You will manually need to edit the forums/clientscript/smnlikquick_css.css file. Just remember that later when you upgrade, do not overwrite that file when upgrading (or else you'll have to re-edit it)... If you have multiple styles, I left some notes in post 99
for a way to work around that. And I didn't understand what you meant with second question *blush*, I am sorry. What do you mean RTL?

I think we're to the point I can take the "beta testing" off of this (I initially just wanted that on there until 3.7 went Gold).. But I'm looking to add a few new features in the near future. Once that's released, everyone has it installed and gives me the OK, thinking that would be the best time to take the "beta testing" sign down... I'll hopefully be working on this soon (not sure when, have two more projects on the table not to mention trying to keep up with my own non-coding related site hehe).. so if anyone has any ideas for features not named in the first post.. please do not hesitate to let me know your thoughts =0)

Always, Bree

RTL means Right To Left languages, like Urdu and Arabic/Persian.

اردو دائیں+سے بائیں لکھی جاتی ہے

To see live demo for RTL check my forums Pak.net

Hey there,

I have a quick question. For some reason, when the "loading" happens, the announcement box is made smaller. This in turn forces everthing below it to 'jump' upward until the next announcement is displayed then it jumps back down to the original position.

Do anyone have any suggestions in make the loading box the same as the "announcement" box so it doesn't like like it does?

This is a great mod by the way. I will most certainly use it . I just hope maybe someone could possibly help me out.

Thank you way in advance.

-Dave
