DownloadsII
DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options. It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself. Instructions & Support Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions. It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions. Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod! You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt). I try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if I don't ask for them. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications. Screenshots & Live demo At the bottom of this post, you can find some screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software. You can find a live demo on my own site: Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch). Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it. Changelog (version 6.0.9) Jelle
Help!!! I can't upload large files?? This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home. Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values. Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system). Add-ons There are currently no official add-ons. Unofficial add-ons are listed below. Installed and voted.
Could you kindly change the stats to a listing view, as was in the v3.x series? At the moment, it appears as below: |

RS_Jelle, I am in love with your product. It's a masterpiece. A few suggestions. Do you plan to implement "Alphabetical view"? For now, I created my own, but my programming is far away from perfect. Another suggestion - paid option, where users can set a price for their files. Can be integrated with any points system. Probably, this will never happen. |

Already tried that. Tried 5, 8, 10, 12 and 15. Didn't work out for me.

Apparently, it is a caching issue.
It has been mentioned earlier that to fix it, go to downloads.php?do=manfiles&act=updatecounters. By the way, RS_Jelle, would you be adding an "Update Counters" button? Better read the rest of the thread before mentioning a few other issues I can see. |

OK, I've gone through the whole thread. At the moment, I am facing 2 issues:
1. After upgrading, when I download any of the files which had been uploaded prior to the upgrade, the file downloaded has a number as a previx, something like this: 63073-Bin Roye Aansoo.rar. Previously, when downloaded, only the title would appear, i.e. Bin Roye Aansoo.rar. Is there some way to fix this? 2. Has anyone tried to import files after the upgrade? Because I've been trying to do so, and the path which I used to feed before for importing is no longer working, plus I've tried all alternatives I could think of. The path which worked previously was: downloads/Original files/ I have tried the complete URL, i.e. http://sitename.com/downloads/Original files/, as well as the address of the files on the server, i.e. D:\Webspace\*****\forums.pakfellows.com\www\downlo ads\Original Files However, I just can't get the script to detect anything. Could you kindly have a look at these, RS_Jelle? Thanks! Update regarding issue 2: OK, this is a bit embarrassing...my apologies for spamming like this. I noticed that unlike the previous version where simply we listed the allowed extensions, here we have the option to select detailed options for every extension. Once I entered the extension I wanted to import, it detected everything. That leaves only issue no. 1. |

Looks great. I used LDM on my 3.8x site, but I thought I'd give this a look-see on my dev build.
Seems to work OK except for when I try to add an image to a file: Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagecreatefrombmp() in /www/enworld.org/production/htdocs/test/downloads.php on line 887 Any ideas? |

An improvement suggestion: would it be possible to add a placeholder image for uploaders that forget to add an image to their files?
