Many hacks allow you to specify a points system by entering the table and column for the points data. Use TABLE: user COLUMN: credits when integrating vBCredits with such hacks (note: you may need to include your table prefix with some hacks)! If you are unsure about integration - ask me!
Why is this version not the gold version yet?
vBCredits 1.4rc1 went through a long bugtesting process at the official site, and rc2 is largely bug free in its entirety. However, *it is missing most of the admin help and post/thread deletion actions are temporarily removed while I figure out how to fix them.

do we need to upgrade to 1.4 before we can use the beta of your shop
Im a bit concerned as i have 1.3 installed and dont want to mess my settings up etc as members now have their own points and would hate to have to redo it all again
vBCommerce falls under the same policy as vBCredits as a "beta of an eventual free product". However once it hits rc it will become available freely on my site, and when its final, released here. vBCredits 1.4 was in beta about a week. In fact, many of the premium members who signed up for 1.4 will most likely be able to still qualify for the vbcommerce beta

yes, vbcommerce relies on many things introduced in 1.4
upgrade is quick and painless you wont lose any of your credit totals or settings that exist in the new version. There will, however, be a lot of new settings for you to check out, and even a new credit total :-p (savings)
