Article Forums v4.x for vBulletin v4.x

Demo | Version History

Turn a forum into an article forum. Sub-forums are turned into categories.

• Posts/Articles show in searches & in new posts
• Create as many sub-forums/ categories as you need
• Follows forum permissions
• Can still rate thread, etc.
• Different postbits for article and replies (comments)
• Choose what to display in postbit for article and comments
• Choose what to display on articles in vBulletin Options

* Not compatible with 3.7.x forums *

Installation:

1. Upload articles.php
2. Import product file
3. Create a forum in admincp
4. Go to vBulletin Options->Article forum Options

Remember to click Mark as Installed to receive updates and support

Possible Future Additions:

• Make article collapsible
• Allow multiple article forums

Do you think you'll have time/interest in getting it to work for 3.7? It's an awesome mod and seems like it's almost there!

I've got no idea why it isn't working. My only suggestion would be to disable all the plugin which run on the showthread pages, it will still function properly but the postbits won't be altered.

The standard thread rating function, is too basic for reviews. A rating function for multiple qualities would be needed.

Please see the ratings on softonic. On the right you'll see ratings on 5 qualities.

That is very a forum-specific rating system

Also I have encountered a problem with BBcodes if they are used in the beginning of an article. You see the actual code in the directory and not the BBcode result.

This is a bit off-topic, but I installed the mod and really like the look of the Article Postbit, and I was wondering how I could incorporate something like that into the rest of the regular threads on my board that aren't article-related? Is there a mod that does it already that I'm not aware of? Thanks!

Great mod ...Installed!

In Firefox, the alignment looks great, but when using IE8...

- the alignment centers all the text, so I manually corrected it by modifying the "af_articles" template.

- The first thread template looks great in FireFox as well, but the user info has a wide blank space to the right of the text/avatar.

Have you looked at your mod using IE8?
