Hey all,

What is Global Announcements?
This is a modification that adds an announcement to every vB page. It's simple to use and install.

What can I do using Global Announcements?
The features of Global Announcements include:

Online / Offline - The ability to turn your announcement Online or Offline.
Set Announcement Title - The ability to change the title of your announcement.
Set Announcement Text - The ability to change the text of which your announcement contains.
HTML Ready - Has the ability to use HTML in both Title and text!

How long will it take me to install Global Announcements?
Global Announcements is a very easy modification to install. It should take no more than 1 minute to install! It comes with a product file, so all you have to do is import the included product file, edit one template and the modification is installed!

Version 1.1 Features
** Border Thickness - The ability to change the thickness of your Global Announcement table.
** Title Colour - The ability to change the colour of the title of your Global Announcement.
** Text Colour - The ability to change the colour of the text of your Global Announcement.
** Title Alignment - The ability to change the alignment of the title of your Global Announcement.
** Text Alignment - The ability to change the alignment of the text in your Global Announcement.

Version 1.2 Features
*** Announcement Title Link - The ability to create a link from the title of your announcement to an external link.
*** 'More' Option - The ability to add an 'More...' to your announcement. This links to the same link as the title.

Upgrade Instructions included in attachment. Just download the zip file and upgrade

how do you add this to the admin cp so that way instead of going to vb options i can just go to Global Announcements edit or whatever?

I feel that because it doesn't have too many options it's best to keep the options in there. Also I think you must use FTP access to do that, I like to keep my modifications clean and really simple to install.

Great Hack

Super easy to install.

Is it possible to change the position of the global announcement? I'd like to place it between the Navigation bar and the forum description if possible.

Hmm Ill look into it tonight. It's a nice idea - and if I ever get round to making the modification into announcements in selected forums, I'll definatly put it in there

Like I previously mentioned I like it a lot. Thanks for the nice work.

It might be nice to add a little checkbox to make the link "open in a new window" as an option

Nice idea - In the next version, you will be able to edit how the window opens (i.e. _blank etc)
