Group,
Im not sure exactly what I did or what happen, but regular users can see the private messages links and use private messages but me as an admin cannot see the private messages links or access or use private messages at all, its like the feature never existed. What would cause this? Did maybe some code in the forum home template get removed that would cause this? Or is there a setting somewhere that would have disabled PM's for me? Whats weird is that it is only effecting the admin. Anyone happen to know what code within Vbulletin would have to be removed or edited to make this happen? All the links regarding access to check Private Messages has been removed or hidden, even up where it says the Unread and Total amounts, that link for Private message is gone too. All that shows is the unread and total. Just curious as to what code in Vbulletin if removed or altered would cause this as this would help me trouble shoot what I did wrong or maybe what a mod or add on is causing this, if it even is an mod or add on. Thanks Doug |

It's all conditional so it sounds more like a permissions problem. Check the group permissions for the Admins group and make sure that access wasn't denied to send and receive PM's in there for some reason. If that doesn't do it, you may have to step back through your installed mods (if any) to see if that resolves it.

Thank you for your advice. I checked the Administrators User Group Permissions and that definetly was what the problem was. Quote:

Really I think there should be an unlimited setting by default and I know I've done that a few times myself

We all have to learn how it works one way or another, no reason to feel bad about it. Glad it's working
