but the sites gets 100,000 unique hits at least in whatever time period you wanna say. the forums get less but still get thousands. i just think the site is set up poorly and needs to be completely redone

Ask them to upgrade both php and mysql, mysql is out of date by a few version mysql 4.0.25 and 26 are considered stable, but they are the last of the mysql 4.0 serries, 4.1.x or 5.0.x would be better. and php 5.0 is a nightmare, php 5.1.x is a solid serries.
