Tagging Threads

A huge feature on all blogs and now more and more content management systems is the ability to tag posts under a specific name, style, genre or subject. For example, although this post could be placed under the Modifications Request forum it could be tagged with "tagging, requests, 3.5, tag, blogging etc ... ".

Bascially what i would like to see is something similar to that adopted by BBPress, created by the authors of Wordpress, heres an example here , it would be nice for not only the thread author to be able to choose appropriate thread tags, but also the general public too. And probally the most important feature would for the ability to display a specified selection of the most popular tags - who in turn would feature varying size in accordance to their popularity. Again, an example of this is avaiable on the Wordpress.org support forum homepage.

I think that this is probally an extremely unique, and of course, complex modification but as far as i am aware isnt avaiable for any of the other leading forum software providers such as IPB or phpBB - and of course would be extremely flexible within its usage.

We actually have (called tag clouds).
Have a look at the index of BoardTracker.

Coming soon is - Board specific tag-cloud.
You will be able to use BoardTracker tag-clouds for for your board. Either system-wide tag clouds OR tag clouds based only on your own board's tags.

We are also coming up with some extra tag-related features for boards. We are very excited about some of the coming features and would love to hear more feedback from you and everyone else here about ideas and thoughrs they have.
