2 forums - 1 users database
Is it possible to have two separate forums on the same server using the same user database? If so is it possible to merge the user databases of two forums before doing this? Cheers.

Yes to both question, but there are a lot of limitations.

Thanks for the reply. do you have any further details. Alternatively is it possible to program the forum so when someone joins one forum, they automatically join the other as well?

All is possible, but it would require custom coding for your situation.
Examples of the downsides to a simple solution: - Postcounts would be shared among the boards. If you Update Counters, you would be left with only the postcount of that single board. - Usergroups (including their id's) must be same on both boards. - Add a user to a usergrup on 1 board, will also add to other board (think about making some a mod on 1 board, and he would automatic become a mod on the other) - etc... |

Is there a way to alter the registration process so it inserts the information in to two user tables (in two vB databases) at the same time? This is what I need. Any ideas? Also any easy way of copying all the current entries from a vB user table to a new vB database?
