This site was created so developers could share their work with each other and the small portion of the vBulletin user base that use code modifications. Even though we are a small portion of the overall user base we have special needs as a community, needs that would not mix well with the needs of regular customers that only need general support.
Imagine the clutter vBulletin.com's forum would become if the forums from vBulletin.org were hosted there. That would be very confusing to general user base! What about the custom code we run here to list modifications? I don't think the guys at vBulletin.com would fancy running all this custom code on a forum that is getting updates from CVS all of the time.
You should not fear the plug-in system begin the end of vBulletin.org.
