Doesn't that depend on the forum though? If a forum is there for quick answers and is geared toward eye-candy lovers, bright and funky is just fine.
But, if you have people on your site who spend 4+ hours a day reading posts, you need muted colors that are easy on the eyes. That's why I tend to stick with really toned-down shades at EA. I have professionals who literally spend their work day on my site. |

Well I guessed that the aim of his/her site was to get as much activity and regular posters as he/she can. *shrugs*
It does depend, but if you want people to spend time on your site and not have their eyes hurt too much... |
