Let's just say the personal issues were important enough that not checking in wasn't an issue. In my case, I took a complete break from being on line, with the exception of checking email every couple of days.
It's not uncommon for us to recommend that certain staff members take a month off. They rarely do it, but the option is there if they need to take a break. |

My staff can take a hiatus , but if they just vanish for a month they are removed, unless they inform admin before hand.
Our staff is ran more strict then most, but this even carrys to the admin/site owner all staff has to be quality. As the owner if I broke a rule, I would expect swift action and punishment. |

In essence, however, since you own the site and created the rules, you can also alter them, therefore you in effect would not be breaking them
