Style Problems
Hi!
I recently had a designer create a style for my forums, was unwilling to complete the project, leaving me to tie up the loose ends. Apparently in his hasty development, his code was severly malformed (see http://net.sheddtech.com/forums/). Could anyone here guide me in the proper direction as to how to move the code around so that it is properly within the body tags? Additionally, I need to add the Private Message section to the homepage, like on the default vB template. What template should this be added to? Finally, any other comments on the style would be welcomed. Thank you, in advance, for your time and assistance. |

The style itself looks fine... although as far as my personal preference goes, it does look somewhat plain.
If you're a newcomer to style creating/editing, it's probably your best bet to either have somewhat look at it and fix it to your approval or simply make a dummy style to play with and learn what's what and how to do everything so you can manage them all yourself. As for the private messaging forum on the index page: Templates -> Modify -> Under the style you wish to edit -> Forum Home Page Templates [expand] -> forumhome_pmloggedin [edit] That's the PM template on the forum index. I realise this might be farfetched since we don't know each other, but if you'd like, I'd be happy to help you out. Just drop me a PM if you'd like to discuss the option |

Hermit,
Thank you for your reply. I am a web developer, so I feel that editting a vB template is in my capacity - hence my request for guidance. I appreciate the information that you provided me on the PM templates. I will attempt to make those changes. I also greatly appreciate your offer of further assistance. Should I have additional problems, I will contact you as you suggested. Thanks again! |
