My Spiders Online Hack Working With CMPS

Finally! :whew: This is the portal integration with this hack:

Forgive me for this, but I'm just going to upload the modified module code and post the one line change you need to make in global.php. I think that will make it easier for all of us.

In global.php Find (the special templates array in the CMPS section:

	$specialtemplates = array_merge($specialtemplates, 

		array(
			'adv_modules',
			'adv_portal_opts',
			'attachmentcache',
			'bbcodecache',
			'birthdaycache',
			'eventcache',
			'iconcache',
			'maxloggedin',
			'smiliecache',
			'userstats'

Add After:

,'wol_spiders'

Then, upload this revised onlineusers.php to your modules directory.

Finally, make the following change to your adv_portal_onlineusers template:

Find:

<phrase 1="$numberregistered" 2="$numberguest">$vbphrase[x_members_and_y_guests]</phrase>

Replace with:

<phrase 1="$numberregistered" 2="$numberguest" 3="$numberspiders">$vbphrase[x_members_and_y_guests]</phrase>

I believe this will work on your portal home page even if you do not have my original hack installed.

Okay, it shows the spiders names now, but it doesn't show a number in the heading:

2 members, 0 guests and spiders

No, it does work...you have to make the change to adv_portal_onlineusers (obviously) to get it to work.

Dennis, given that you are already having problems with the quiz hack, do you think it's wise to be installing anything else until you get that fixed? Part of fixing bugs is making sure you only change one thing at a time so that you can isolate and fix problems.

The quiz hack is working fine for my users, I don't know why it runs weird for me.

Same problem and before you ask I have edited the adv_portal_onlineusers file. As far as I know it shows up fine with spiders online but when they aren't (ie on my test board) it just says spiders instead of 0 spiders.

Okay I played and got it.

In the other thread it says to add $numspiders and it should be $numberspiders.

Working fine now. You might wanna add that to the first post Amy, when you add the install button.

Good to know. This one was a pain in the patooty to do because it's been so long since I installed the portal that I forgot that it had bits of code in global.php. Took me forever and a day to figure out why it wasn't working.
