Disable Edit Signature on User-by-User basis?
I'd like to see if somone could write a hack that allowed admins/mods to disable a users' ability to edit their signature. This would be perfect for forum owners who have signature rules that constantly get violated by the same people. A ban is a little harsh for a sig violation, but disallowing them to use the sig feature would be perfect!

I just have a Sig Abusers usergroup that I move any such people into. There is already an option to restrict signatures on a per-usergroup basis, and essentially, you are grouping users into those that can have sigs and those that cannot, so...

Good idea...I was going to suggest just making a new usergroup and moving them to that. Much easier that way.

while not an easy solution you can edit profile.php and find the section that says if do editsignature then add an if statement if bbuserinfo == x print no permission
probably good to have an array if you have many, then if in array or however it goes im a newbie so cant tell u exactly the more experienced here can |
