There are three different methods for calculating a due date. First, the mommy to be enters the first day of last menstrual period Next, she enters the number of days her cycle normally lasts. 28 days is standard, but if longer or shorter, the calculation start date should be adjusted + or - the number of days greater or less than 28 for the cycle. This will give you the caculated start date. 1) From caculated start date, add 280 days. 2) From caculated start date, add 40 weeks. 3) From caculated start date, count back three calendar months, then add one year and seven days. A basic calculator would assume 28 days and use either method #1 or #2 above. A more advanced calculator would provide all three methods for calculating, allow for the adjustments based on the mom's cycle length, and provide additional details such as baby's birth stone, star sign, conception date, etc. |
