as you see the gd section which i posted as the rest weren't needed features jpg support.

has anything cool come off this new technology after all people have been waiting like 50 years just to be able to have php create gif's yet i've heard nothing regarding any innovations of peices of software or anything for that matter.

What new technology? GIF Write support was in GD before but was removed because of the patent and added back last year.
