Hacks and upgrading vBulletin
Wonering how you can tell which hacks are ok to install and which may present problems when upgrading to a new version of vBulletin? Is there any rules to follow?
What if you have a hack that is causing errors whne upgrading? What is involved in uninstalling a hack? Thanks, |

THeres a thread around here somewhere that gave tips on upgrading your hacked vb... in tutorials somewhere. You can take a clean set of files for the newest vb and re-add the file edits for your hacks.
With that said, the only thing you may have problems with are database edits. If that should be the case, then more than likely a few of us would run into that and someone will prob figure out a way around it. If not, I think you can do a vb to vb import, then upgrade but having never gone that route myself, I dont know if its as easy as it sounds. |
