"news" vB posts on non-vb page

looked tried all the hacks here and non have done it for me....

asked questions and got little help...

what i want is the title, post (want to limit the text), poster name, comments, replies, ratings from vB forum topic to a non-vb page

ive tried many scripts and non have worked 100%...i can get the news titles in 1 but if i include the post text i dont get anything and i loose the right colum of my site and the footer...

tried another and all i get is title..tried to hack it but no good...

and another just dont work at all...have the latest mysql and php that is supported (ie. no betas) and i am a seasoned hack user (ie. many hacks installed on site - thnx for the work...members love it)

got a new layout ive been working on in the past few months (read 6) and im stuck here with the non-vb page hacks...

got other non-vb page hacks to work but not news

The problem is that such "hacks" are moreless always custom to your software environment.
Basically you just have to query the thread and post table, but without knowing where exactly you want to include this logic, eg. if there are other database connections already open, etc. it's pretty difficult to give advice ...
